NW IA | The thread replies reminded me of a veterinarian's story about his childhood BB gun incident.
There was an abandoned building site littered with old machinery in the woods near their home where he, his little brother and some friends would have BB gun "wars". Of course, *no one would be shot above the shoulders*; that was the gentlemen's agreement.
Well, he shot his little brother in the eye (pause here to say there was no serious lasting injury, but dramatic blood loss, must have hit the eye-lid or something around the eyeball)
On the long walk back to the house the little guy was fervently coached to tell Mom he had run into a tree branch or something and never mention BB guns or the entire neighborhood would be disarmed. He wholeheartedly bought into the plan.
However, when the bloody victim reached his Mother in front of the house, he immediately pointed at his big brother and shouted, "He shot me in the eye!" | |
