Subject: RE: Case 8010 Combines

SE Washington
I basically had to build up an equipment line when I started farming. Like you I did a fair amount of research and talking to people to figure out what had a decent reputation but at the end of the day it's got to fit into your budget too. Sometimes the best deals are on stuff that isn't all that desirable, but is decent enough equipment. If that 8010 got run through a dealer on a semi regular basis it's probably had a lot of new parts put in it. Sounds like you know the difference between a good and bad combine. Buy it for the right price and it'll pay for itself in a year or two easy. Don't over pay for it, you'll be kicking yourself down the road when you sell it for scrap. My budget combine usually cuts what I paid for it in wheat by lunchtime the first day of harvest. It'll be a sad day when it dies but then I'll be on the hunt for the next deal.
