Crary series 2 is a much better gearbox. I chewed through an old style box about every 2-3 years with my 635 (I'm not sure why, I ran 925 head for many years with the older gearbox without problems). I switched it over to a series 2 probably 4 or 5 years ago and it has been problem free.
I like to engage my header switch first, then my machine so that they all come on together. I feel like it's less I f a shick to the header gearbox at start-up.
