SW Central Illinois | I understand your thoughts. I have a 13 duramax with 190,000 miles, got sideswiped by another truck 2 months ago. It’s getting fixed currently, They rented me a 2025 6.6 gas with 10 speed. It gets 13 mpg most of the time. 12 mpg mixpulling nh3 wagons and regular driving . (Bet it would barely get 9-10 if pulling for the whole tank), less if pulling heavier and faster loads. my duramax gets 16 regular running around. I prefer a diesel, but the gas with 10 speed could replace my diesel. It is quick for a 3/4 ton gas truck. If I bought a diesel they are about $10,000 higher than gas and heard they cost almost $10,000 to delete if that’s what you are into for longevity.
Ps some of the 6.6 gas trucks do burn some oil . This one I’m driving has 9,000 miles and has burnt about a half quart of oil in 2500 miles. Let us know what you decide. | |
