Walton Farms - 3/12/2026 02:55 I spent 1000's of hours in the 90's pulling a 24' 496 7.5 spacing with a turned up 4440. Maybe im not sure what you mean by heavy disk, a Rome maybe? A 496 style disk id think 28'-32' would be just fine.

One thing I know for sure is that a 496 is NOT a "heavy disk".   490, 496, 3900, 3950, 340, 345, etc they're all finishing disks.

A 596 CIH (Five Ninety Six) is on the light side of being a "heavy disk".   370/375 CIH, newer Sunflower/Landoll disks are all much heavier/foot than a 496.

A Wishek is what I think of as being a "heavy disk".     Something that will turn a corn field black with one pass in the fall.
