Have run 8 row amity lifters for many years and yes in high yielding beets (30ton) or more max speed is about 3.4. Mph limited by the rear scrub. Some have put an alloway rear scrub on the amity and I guess that really speeds them up but is costly. I am going to a 12 row to eliminate the 8 row lifter and 12 row topper confusion we have made it work with the 12 row topper and 8 row lifter but it takes some thinking. During freezing nights we would just take 8 rows with the 12 row topper so the beets wouldn't freeze
