Subject: RE: John Deere 4920 Sprayer Questions

SESD
We've had a 4920 for several years, I'd like something different, it is heavy, these dry years and we still leave ruts in the field. , you can fold the tips in, and then the second stack, i have one 60' stretch I spray this way, i assumed it was 60ft when folded like this. The pass area is actually 80ft or so wide but we have a 60ft planter so i dont dick with the 2-4 rows for planting, its along trees so doesn't grow anyway

refinement is a matter of personal experience, brown box rate control works fine, 2600 shuts off controls are nice. I feel this machine we have, has been very high maintenance for us only having 4000hrs and we cover 1200-1300 planted acres 2-3 passes a year. Multiple broken fold cylinders, blown hoses, blown hydro hoses, spray pump rebuild, main pivot hinge sheared off on the boom carrier. Engine has been very solid, had an injection pump issue that seems to have self resolved.

they're almost always retired co-op sprayers, so they've been run hard
