Subject: Beet guys- going from 6 row to 8 row?

NE ND
I know everyone is running 12 rows but for those of you who have in the past gone from 6 rows to 8 rows tell me if I’m thinking about this wrong? I have a 6 row wic, it does a really nice job but needs some rebuilding. Thinking about going to an 8 row, from what I can tell the scrub chains on the 6 rows and 8 rows are the same, even on the newer 2500 models. Does it really load that much faster? Isnt the scrub chain the limiting factor, in a big crop I can already overload our scrub chain on the 6 rows. If I’m just feeding it 8 won’t I just have to slow down and actually load trucks in the same amount of time?

Probably have to spend 10k in parts on our 6 row this summer, 8 rows in decent shape are probably 30.

Also, looking to expand in the future so I do realize 8 rows wear out slower covering the same amount of ground. In some aspects anyway.
