| I own a pick your own peach orchard with all different types of you pick crops including grapes, black berries, and every other fruit and vegetable you can think of. A local customer said it would be helpful if I had an interactive map of my place that could be on the customer's phone/gps. When they get to a particular crop they could click on it in the map and it would pull up photos, information or even a video of me explaining about it and how to properly pick it.
So why is this in drone talk. Well we could just use old google map images but crops change and it isnt exactly the best picture. So we can take photos with a drone, stitch them together and use that image instead. I then told him I have been wanting a drone and would like to purchase one that could perform this task.
He looked into it on his mapping side and he is reccomending to get a drone that takes photos in the GeoTiff format. And using software like the DJI terra.
To make it exceptionally clear i know nothing about drones. Although I am tech savvy. I dont want to have a ton of money into this but also dont want junk.
My row spacings on the tightest rows is 12 foot on my veggies, not sure how that would effect the accuracy but wanted to state that.
If anyone has any insight on what i am trying to do please share any and all info you can. | |
