I give credit where it's due. N series processor left a lot to be desired but the chassis and hydraulics were unmatched. 1400 series was probably the best rotor out of the gate but the chassis was a joke and it was kept entirely too long. Popping a wheelie with a. 8 row on a machine that heavy is pretty pathetic.
Wouldn't have been an issue had they improved the chassis by say the 2188, but to keep it as long as they did is what I have issues with. The N and early R series drives that were excessively complicated were abandoned when the R2 series was developed, that was about 15 years to learn how to improve things. IH took more than twice as long.

Neighbor went midrange and loves it. Said it is everything he liked about the legacy with everything he didn't re-engineered and improved.
If a guy has a 1680 and wants to keep his heads I see no fault in staying legacy, but if a guy is going clean slate why not try to get a better machine?
