NE Indiana | If it's bent at the 90 its going to be all but impossible to straighten. I worked at a heavy truck shop that had a very big press, and I straightened forks quite frequently for customers. Never could get one to straighten that was bent at the 90. Anything in between there and the end could almost always be fixed. They take a lot of force to straighten them so a backhoe or come along isn't going to work unless they are just tiny forks.
If you heat it, you might as well throw it in the scrap and buy a new one.
