I wonder why the bin builders in are area are completely booked up by early December every year if bins are such a bad investment;) Apparently I live in a area of bin building wealthy farming marketing dummies;)

Who said bins are a bad investment? It was correctly said that market increase is not the reason to own one. Basis improvement, carry and harvest bottlenecks are some of the great reasons to build one.

Who says….Basically every one that doesn’t have any lol. Read it here on agtalk every couple of months….

I was referring more to Green Acres Guy who commented on this post and was criticized. The ironic thing is that he said he uses bins on a regular basis. I store some grain on farm as well. To each his own. However I would not tell my son who is starting out to borrow money and build a bin so he could fill it with grain and hope the price goes up. We have a fast dumping elevator a mile from our bin site, so a lot of the harvest is sold ahead and goes straight there
