Subject: RE: Case 8010 Combines

NW Missouri
I went from a 2388 to a 7120, so I never had a midrange. But things are so much easier to access on the flagship, there is no comparison to the legacy machines. I'm betting the midranges have some of the same features. Mostly I guess I'm talking about the rotor area. On a legacy, the right hand rotor covers have to be in juuuuust the right spot to get them on or off. And even then you can't get to the right rear of the rotor, which made removing grates a PITA. The flagships are so much easier to get to. The covers come right off, and you can fully access both sides of the rotor. I also like the step on each side for accessing the rotor, which I know the midranges have. Also I appreciate how there are fewer pieces of angle iron on the outside of the machine to grab chaff - seems easier to clean the flagship too.

All that being said, I wanted to avoid the 010 series because of the electrical gremlins and the bugs of a completely new design. But at 4k hours, that's probably not much of a concern for the machine the OP is considering. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought an 8120 instead of a 7120 as I did not realize until after the purchase that the 7010 and 7120 have a smaller cleaning area than all the other flagships. It works fine, but parts may be hard to come by down the road.
