| When I priced higher deductibles a few years back it did not make as much difference as one would hope. I am within whisker of dropping the outbuildings entirely, in reality the amount of inusrance on them will not make much difference anyway in a catasphic event. Buildings are 1-1/2 mile apart which may or may not help in a weather event, would help if a fire happens. We are a STO, grass based cow-calf so not a lot of exspensive machinery. Have 2-3 tractors, baler and haybine insured which I would maintain. Balers are a fire risk, but I think that I am careful enough that it is unlikely, 2 of the tractors have cabs and our insurance includes a $50 deductible on glass no matter what deductible we run otherwise. | |
