Holly Hill, SC | In my situation these tips are never used to spray a "fence row". On the 2800 acres I farm, I might spray along 100 yards total of fences. The tip is very valuable to: extend your boom closer to the tree line, fill in the missed teardrop between passes when you overshoot you AB line by 3 feet, clean up around power poles, etc... I wouldn't have a sprayer with out fence tips on them. I even have an extra side tip on my planter so herbicide can be sprayed an extra 2.5' when planting along the edges of fields.
I do agree with you on needing to be carefull of the consequences of killing your grasses in fences resulting it an even worse weed/tree taking over. I have seen some people get all bent out of shape on even considering have a fence tip on their sprayer. In most cases it is not a "fence tip" but just a boom extender. | |
