I am guessing you overload the 6.6 gas unless you are in a dually 1 ton.

I went diesel because the 2500 in a 6.6 gas is 16k bumper pull towing, and my MEX on a trailer is pushing the 18.5k lbs on a bumper pull that the diesel is rated for.
