mercer county, il | I’ll agree with that! Even a lot of the beans we don’t store, end up in a bin. Way faster and easier hauling them on a rain day in the fall. If you add up moisture dock, selling overdry beans, and the expense of sitting in line when everyone else is cutting beans, it pays.
But the other side of that, that a lot of bin guys want to ignore, by the time you pay interest on the stored grain, insurance and property taxes on the bin, and fuel, wear, and electric putting it in, and out. Adds up.
This year storing beans, and selling the carry worked here. But the above costs ate up almost half the dollar I gained. | |
