| Young and beginning farmer, taking on my first chunk of rented ground as well as some custom this year. Local auction coming up for a recently passed away farmer has a Case 8010 combine and 8 row corn head and 25 foot bean head with it as well. Doing some research, it seems like a guy could pick one up fairly cheap compared to some other options. I have had two people tell me very adamantly to stay away from the 8010's, based on reputation alone. This is a red top machine, I've heard that makes a difference. Seems like a well maintained machine ran by an older gentleman, I've requested service records and should be getting those soon. 4,000 engine hours, 2,800 separator hours. Could it be as bad as they say? Anybody have experience good or bad with them? Any guidance is appreciated! | |
