Central MN | Not sure how much this would mess up your plumbing set up but we switched ours to a drainable sump on the bottom with our outlet line running under the deck of the truck (trailer). May or may not be an option for you.
Otherwise I'm sure someone has done your idea and will chime in. ( Sorry if I wasn't helpful lol)
Edit to add - by drainable sump I don't mean we switched the tank itself, rather that Banjo makes a 3" bung that you put in the bottom of the tank that has gaps between the bolts, so it drains all the way to the floor.
