| I have a couple 3.200 gal tanks on a flatbed semi. They drain on the end and don’t drain all the way. They have an elbow inside the tank and the elbow is cut in a zig zag (I assume in a very rough attempt to follow the water line).
They have been aiming down and to the right (4:30 to 5).
I want to aim them straight down. They hit the bottom of the tank that way so I want to cut them shorter. I also want to square off the zig-zag cut from the factory so the entire thing sucks from very low down in the tank.
My questions before I cut them off are:
1. Will this work as good as I think it will?
2. What is the purpose of the zig/zag cut? I understand following the water line but why not just make one cut parallel to the water line?
3. How much distance do I need between the bottom of the elbow (if I cut it square and aim it down) to prevent flow restriction? I want it as low as possible to suck as much out as possible…
First image is tank.
Second is valve oriented in the factory way
Third is orientation I want:
