I assume this is 4-H at which point MN State Fair has a recommended minimum weight of 1000lb and maximum weight of 1600lbs for dairy steers.  If this is a Jersey you might not get over 1000lb due to the small frame, but if they are finished should be fine.  With an end of June fair I assume they are showing in either Todd or Morrison counties and some of them hold their steers for state fair.  If it were my kid we would be targeting 1450-1500lb for end of June.



Edit to add:
Most counties engorce weights in state fair premium book and early fairs will allow lighter weights if they feel animal will be heavy enough for state fair.
