Is 4-h I thing where you live. Have him keep the actual numbers and learn the business side of cattle. Possibly do the market steer if your cow calf. Also let's him sell at an inflated profit to save some money.
If you high school has a trade school take the diesel mechanic welding program or another skill that could be beneficial
