NW Wisconsin
Nope. Didnt grow a bushel of them. Didnt make sense to. Grew all corn and had fantastic yields. Forward contracted enough to pay the bills at 2 ethanol plants. Never had to wait in line for longer than 10 minutes and the rest I stored for my own use and a neighbor for feeding livestock. And also didnt need to wait in line a bit. And was a price maker and not a taker.

Growing beans this season because the price is well over 10 cash price and rotation it makes sense. Have some forward contracted and whatever isnt contracted I will sell after harvest during SA planting season. Why pay storage and interest costs when you can just forward contract new crop instead? Im in an area that doesnt have big basis changes so you are only speculating on futures. Never a shortage of crops. Everything gets hauled out.
