Eat one of em. If you don't want to butcher a steer or cull cow, butcher a deer, or a hog, or even chickens are good experience. Knowing how a cow works helps explain the why of a lot of what you do. Whether it's AI, or pulling a calf, or nutrition, or judging finish. And if he doesn't farm and becomes a butcher or surgeon, somebody's got to do it.
