I see the argument made, re: if you want to be long, just buy the board and then you don't have the hassle of moving the physical. I don't really like the argument. Last fall when beans had a $9 handle I wasn't really worried about them going much lower. I didn't plan on the $2 rally but I also thought it would be easier to see them get to 10.xx than 8.xx. So I was perfectly comfortable sticking them in the bin unpriced and waiting a bit. This year I think is tougher because 11.xx isn't a bad price. So it would be tempting to just do an HTA, and catch the likely basis improvement after harvest. I can see us going to 10 easier than i can see us going to 12...
