WeatherBug - 3/10/2026 19:05 I went to $4.00 + processing this last fall. Thats somewhere pretty close to sale barn price, maybe a little higher... I probably should be a bit higher on my price but its sometimes difficult to find buyers with that kind of money just laying around with today's beef prices Depending on your location and if you are close to a good size city or not, there likely are not a lot of families with either the cash on hand or the freezer space to take a whole steer. That's one reason to get licensed to sell by the pound. Restaurants will buy good ground beef especially in quantity. It is hard to supply enough tenderloins or rib eyes, etc to a restaurant when you are processing just one or two steers at a time. |
