Do you have rye or oats for it to climb on? Vetch will produce more seed if it has something to climb on. I plant rye with my vetch to be seperated later . I use a draper head and direct cut mine , some really dry weather when your combineing helps alot. I have found if it is really hard to combine is to stop and wait a few days unless the seed is popping out of the pods. Keep a close watch on the field blooms go in cycles pick a time when the blooms have died down. I have been growing for three years I still have alot to learn. Just remebered if you know someone with bees it could help with seed set.
