Yes, definitely.

I caused this mess. Months earlier, this group was fed using the ATV with buckets on the foot pegs. I failed to lead the 43 others away from the new pair within a few minutes of the calf being born. I did not notice them coming across the pasture, following the ATV, as I checked an area that I had not seen. I got over a hill and motored around back to the barn and then to eat dinner.

Returned 3 hours later and found calf with the bunch and Mom not really on her job. But again, imo her behavior was created by the chaos I triggered.

She would have been fine at her birthing location had I lead the bunch away from the new pair.
