Ross County, Ohio | Very true. I'm at age were jumping massive debt doesn't make sense and my kids don't want to farm. They help me here and there, but not interested in actually doing it. I'd like to rent some land, but available land is either locked up by the big operations, or it's 10 miles away. I'm not putting my equipment on the road just to rent 50 acres. 150 is worth it to me, but not much less. My kids want to keep our farms since they grew up there. One of our farms has been in the family since 1882 and that means something to them. They can camp, hunt and rent it out in the future. They say they'll never sell. |
