Malta, Illinois | The fuel might sting a little but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The fertilizer thing is another matter. Depending on your fertility, you can probably skip p+k or cut back some and not get hurt too bad. Nitrogen is where is gets ugly. If you don't have your nitrogen needs covered it will get ugly quick. I rode the bubble on nitrogen until around the first of the year and then got covered. Seemed a bit steep at the time but looks really good now. It is extremely hard to pull the trigger right now with things where they are but I really don't see this thing turning around until well after the crop is in the ground. I just hope things have settled down by the time fall rolls around. Best of luck to you. | |
