Eastern NE KS | I had the privilege and honor to attend church with my parents over their last years. Dad always wore his dress cowboy hat and always removed it from his head when entering church. This continued even after the pants he wore were easy to manage sweats.
It never failed to tickle me when we forgot his hat under his chair and some parishioner can running to him with his hat. Dad would be a little embarrassed but the person returning his hat always looked happy to have the chance to help . The folks there knew my folks were elderly and then failing, as much as my mom disliked that assessment.
Everyone helped me help my folks including giving us an extra dose of patience when running minutes late. It could be there were people that had negative thoughts about us and our slow poke movements. I never heard anything like that. | |
