 Northeast Tennessee | It seems like at some point there is mostly going to be farm equipment owner/operators and then there is going to be farm land owners. Unless your family owns both land and equipment it's almost impossible for a young farmer to get started, even with a average income, off the farm job and hope to pay for even couple hundred acres land and some decent equipment, especially if you plan on having a family. Land has been a good investment for us older farmers, but it will not cash flow at today's prices. | |
