Ross County, Ohio | Did a farmer buy it? I can't wrap my head around these land prices for farm ground by farmers. How does anyone think they are going to make money off that acre of ground? Ground around me is bring 8-12K per acre for farm. With two years of drought conditions and lower prices, several around me that have done are worried, as they should be. a few have admitted to me one more and they are gone. They have nobody but themselves to blame, if it happens. "I invested in it. You'll never see corn below $5 again." Every invested has to have a pay day at some point. There is none at those prices. Farm it for 30 years and never see a clear dime from that acreage over what you've invested. When I purchase anything I plan for the worst case scenario, because I'm not losing everything myself and my family has bled, hurt and shed tears over. |
