Top of Texas | I’m scratching my head over how this red cow bred to a black angus bull produced this red baldy calf. This is a cow I bought in 2024 as a 5 yr old so I don’t know anything about her lineage, maybe she’s carrying some Hereford genetics. I suppose the bull could have been carrying a red gene but that doesn’t explain the white face. Not only that but this is the first red calf I’ve ever gotten out of any of my red cows bred black in 20 years. The odds that some random white face bull got in with the cows and happened to breed this single cow are not zero but darn close.
