| Number of years ago, I was looking at a Ford Focus, just off lease. I don't remember which motor it had in it, but they had a problem with the thermostat housing cracking, and letting coolant into the engine oil, ruining the engine. Here's the kicker, extended warranty won't cover that, because the warranty only covered what was between the valve cover, and the oil pan. Since the thermostat housing was bolted on, any problems it caused was not covered by the warranty. This came from the car salesman himself. So, read the fine print. | |
