ECWI | Gehl was headquartered in this area and kinda big deal in Ag up until early 2000s. Manufactured a lot of forage and manure products, and eventually got big into skid loaders and the construction side before being bought out.
I was always intrigued by their windrow merger. Saw a few at Farm Progress demoed but never saw one in the neighborhood.
Would have been a great time saver.
One of my first tractor driving jobs was raking/ merging windrows together for second and third crop hay.
We did not bale much, but had a New Holland self propelled chopper after 1976. Dad wanted the chopper pulling wagons slow and conserving time and fuel so almost all hay and straw had rows combined. If second cutting was short we would often combine 3 rows.
