Michigan | I did a complete rebuild on a 1990 CCS last summer. I used mostly a mix of Exapta and Needham parts, both were great to deal with and quality was excellent. Both make greaseless pin/bushing kits for the firmer and closing wheel. In my opinion this is a better way to go vs. the bearing kit that you linked. It's the wrong application for a bearing.
The stock 18" disks are supposed to be better than the larger disks but I can't remember the reason right now. There is a difference in quality between disks and this is a place where you get what you pay for.
I'm not a fan of the hard urethane wheels. They last forever but don't have enough flex. I went with narrow rubber gauge wheels with a spoked hub from an aftermarket supplier (not a name brand). Exapta has a hybrid urethane gauge wheel tire that is hollow in the middle to give it some flex, looks interesting but I've got no experience with it. | |
