Can't tell you if there's any difference but I know I sure like my Mudsmiths.   I've got a CIH planter and due to a dumb design the back of the tire isn't tight against the opener disk and it lets dirt in.   If it's dry it didn't cause a problem but any mud and the wheel was packed solid with mud.   I've never plugged a gauge wheel with mud since I installed them.   I have had it happen a couple times where cornstalks got inside the spokes and stopped the wheel but it happens probably once every couple years on one random row so it's a tolerable problem.
