That has happened by accident on my New Holland balers and it doesn't immediately cause problems. Most times I cannot tell from the wrapped bales that the net roll is off center.

You mileage may vary considerably as you have a different color baler.

I never use a wide net. Even at standard width the last several generations of NH balers will pull the net over the edge by a few strands.

The NH BR780A I first owned did not pull the net over the edges and that is, as you have found, much nicer when pulling the net off a bale setting on end.
