It depends how cheap you can buy NG. But here is an example since we quote a 800kw and a 1000kw diesel set the other day.
Under full load an 800 kw diesel gen set will burn about 67 gallons per hr. x the cost of off road diesel = ?
Under full load an 800 kw NG set will burn about 10,500 cubic ft per hr. Not sure the cost of NG but maybe .015-.020 per cubic ft.
Under full load an 800kw on Propane would burn upwards of 142 gallons per hr. If my thought is correct figure about 13M BTU per hr.

The problem is diesel fuel is readily available to any site. NG in larger quanitities may be limited flow.
And propane would be prohibitive in cost.

Energy costs are almost certain to go up a lot just in time for spring planting.
