Driftless SW Wisconsin | Well, a low pressure system does it again! First calf of the year, very early. A bit muddy but Mom 150 taking good care of her. A little heifer.
This cow was my bull companion last winter so goy bred a few weeks before the rest. We had a lot of rain today, melted most of the snow. I watched this cow give birth on her own in the woods then bring her new born out and gave colostrum.
150 always has a small calf but at yearling time her calves are right up with the largest of the calves.
