Just got a call from company C at $473. That's $171 more than last year at this time. There may be a real shortage if ships don't get moving is the "reason" they're giving.
I also asked if Dekalb here in the Northeast is having issue with seed. They said yes even with the shorter season seed so corn going south as some have said isn't the issue in that case.
There was a lot of ear disease this year, I would bet that is the real culprit. |
