Subject: Feeding potatoes

Lots of culls available here this year. Fed a few loads this fall to dry cows. Helped put a lot of weight on some old cows that we were feeding for some guys. Probably put 150 pounds on a group of old cows. I think it’ll help that guy take those cows one more year. Did bloat one from over eating. Ended up buying that cow from that feller. Overall, I feel like it was a real win though.

Right now I’m calving out my own cows. The real experienced potato feeders that I’ve talked to feed zero potatoes during calving due to scours concerns. I’m sure this is well warranted but could I get away with a small amount just to supplement?
