Spring calving here. Fall calving requires more feed to feed through the winter for both cows and calf, on the flip side there is probably more cost to bedding a cow and calf down in the spring vs winter. I also like spring calving because if a calf gets dehydrated for any reason, there is much more time to deal with giving electrolyte because it is much cooler outside and not dealing with 80 to 100 degree temps. Lastly, I am not sure if I would want someone sucking my tit constantly when it is 30 or 40 below in the winter.
