Unless you are buying a commodity bean (offered in different bags), price is less important than performance. There are easily 5-10 bushel swings in performance caused by genetic differences, knowledge to properly place beans, etc.
Its also quite likely for a $40/unit bean to out yield a $60/unit bean.
The cheapest beans I planted last year were the highest yielding. My experience has been that seed price is a pretty poor indicator of how well it will perform.
Aside from that, how many bean varieties are exclusive to one brand's bags?
