| Basically FCC banned all new foreign made drones that don't meet a 60ish% made in america benchmark. Can't remember the exact percent
Existing drones that already have FCC approval are fine, won't be grounded, and can get parts in (depending on customs). But after January 2027 can no longer get software/firmware updates.
The cool thing, is that some companies have agreed to run new software on their drones. Vector agreed to run the new Ceres app on the HD580s, so this spring current drones can upgrade to a new app, and any new drones will come with it already installed. This way, even though the HD580 is a Chinese drone, it'll be able to continue getting software updates. As far as I know, DJI and XAG have no plans to do that. Not sure about EaVision | |
