Subject: RE: Hog manure ahead of soybeans

Scottville, 49454 Northwest Michigan

We've done it before.  May have applied closer to 4000 to 4500 gallons.  Definitely won't apply that much ever again.  Too much growth, which resulted in more White Mold than we had in the fields that did not receive the hog manure.

Personally.... I would apply the spring manure on a field going to corn.  That would definitely be my first choice.  But if it did have to go to a field destined for soybeans.... I wouldn't put on any more that 3000 gallons.  And even 3000 gallons may be too much.
