St. Claude, Mb, Canada | It was a completely new line, existing line was not going anywhere. It was designed to pick up some light crude from the bakken fields along the way. The existing flow was going to be diverted more to the east and the extra capacity that freed up going to the gulf was allowing them to not need a new line from Oklahoma south. All those refineries are set up to handle medium to heavy crude. Idea was that the lighter stuff from Permian could then be an export product. Would have been a win win for both countries. | |
