Might depend on the seed size. I planted sunflowers with JD 7000 corn fingers until I got a few sunflower fingers to try. I wasn't impressed with the sunflower fingers. Maybe at a smaller seed size they would have been a bigger difference.

Is it planting light (skips?), heavy (doubles?), poor germination?

Are they Precision finger meters? Do you have the adjustable brush? That could make a difference. There was also one year where we got bad seed and had a horrible stand. The company sent new seed and that came up much better.

It's been a couple years but I think I was planting #3 seed??
