nc ks | I wish they wouldn't do this bridge payment to anyone. However, they are. My control county is dragging its feet. My neighbors with a different control county are getting paid almost immediately after signing up. I signed up online the 23rd. My status hasn't changed past 'submitted'. I finally called this morning and was told that the other counties are doing it wrong and not vetting whether all 2025 eligibility is met. We had to have eligibility met for 2025 to get other payments. In my mind, eligibility for this payment should be basically a rubber stamp if we have received other payments. I think that is what other counties see. With as volatile as our government is and the courts are and everything, I believe my control county is playing a dangerous game with the possibility of payments being told to stop and creating a large uneven playing field between farmers. We all know what the payments do to the price of things we buy. There may be even large purchases that I need to make for my farm, but I'm not spending the money before I have it. Yesterday, I passed on a couple auction items that were reasonably priced and would help our operation.
